Everyone who is going to visit or already visiting Belarus can have themselves feel like millionaires. As the Belarusian current currency contains lots of "0" Zero's. Do not be afraid that you will be confused dealing with Belarusian banknotes. On the contrary then it is not so difficult.

In our today's Blogger lens we will get you acquainted with the current Belarussian currency - Belarussian rubles. The currency of Belarus is quite beautiful and, of course, cognitive. We'll tell you what is the smallest banknote and the biggest one in Belarus, and also which famous historical places and talented people of art are printed on the Belarusian rubles. Below each banknote you will also be able to see the original printed on it and compare their similarity. 

In the Republic of Belarus there are 6 regions: Minsk, Brest, Grodno, Vitebsk, Mogilev, Gomel, and each of them is famous for its historical and modern sights and people of art. However, it was not possible to put all of them on the Belarusian banknotes, and only a few were selected and printed on them. But what are they? 


Let's start with the smallest banknote

The smallest Belarusian banknote is 50 rubles. You can see the legendary Brest Fortress on it and the main entrance to this memorial complex that is situated in Brest.

It has been almost 69 long years since the Great Patriotic War was over but Belarusian people have always remembered the fearless heroic deeds of their border guards, who first met the enemy on the 22nd of June, 1941. They fought for every meter of the Motherland till their last breath and blood drop. The defenders of Brest Fortress, who wrote the following inscription on its walls: “We’ll die but we’ll not surrender. Farewell, Motherland. 20. VII. 41.”

By the way,during the World War II the two powerful leaders and dictators of Europe such as Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini visited  The Brest Fortress wandering around it and being very thoughtful. Adolf Hitler even picked up a rock from the ruined Brest Fortress and brought it to Germany with him. They said that he was sitting and sitting for hours in his study looking at that rock and wondering why  powerful Germans had lost the war.

Then comes the banknote 100 rubles

Here you can see the Theater of Opera and Ballet that is located in Minsk. Its building started in the year of 1933 before the World War II. It was designed and built under the control of one of the most famous architector Iosif Langbard. Above the main entrance there is the ancient Greek patron of art and enlightenment Apollo surounded by muses of dance, theater, music and poetry.

This one of the few of the world banknotes where on the other side of  which people - ballet dancers of the theater are depicted. This is a scene from the ballet "Fiancee" by Eugene Glebov that was staged by Otar Dadishkiliani. The protagonists of the ballet whom you can see on this banknote are Yakov Botvinnik, Ludmila Laktionova, Alevtina Korzenkova. This way these people of art who are neither queens or kins, nor presidents were immortalized on the 100 rubles banknote.

Banknote - 500 Belarusian rubles

On this banknote there is the Palace of Culture that is also located in the city of Minsk, it is a center of mass-cultural and educational work. It was built in 1954. The Palace of Culture is decorated with various sculptures such as a girl with a violin, a boy with a globe, a worker, a countrywoman, a sportswoman and a scientist. Its main facade faces Oktyabrskaya Square.

1000 rubles

In the center of the Belarusian capital, in Lenin Street 20 there is the National Museum of Art of the Republic of Belarus. This is the largest collection of Belarusian and foreign art. The National Mesemm of Art contains more than 27 thousand works of art, which form 20 various unique collections that in turn are considered to be the main two museum collections: the collection of national art and the collection of works of different countries and nations of the world.

And the same museum you can see on the 1000 banknote. on the other side of it there is only a fragment of the picture "The portrait of a stranger with flowers and fruit" by Ivan Hruckiy (1838).

What can we see on this banknote? It is the Palace of Sports that is also located in Minsk, in Pobeditelei Avenue 4. It was the 1st sports complex in the USSR and designed according some asymmetrical experimental project. However, at the end of the 19th century there was an extensive marsh on the same place and the inhabitants of which were so-called very distant relatives of crocodiles according to some scientists' works. Also not far away from the Palace of Sports  underground river Nemiga flows.

On the other side there is a republican center of Olympic preparation  for winter sports that is called "Raubichi" and located 20 km from the city of Minsk. The complex "Raubichi" was founded in the year of 1974.

The banknote - 10,000 Belarusian rubles

On this banknote you will see the Summer Amphitheater located in the center of Vitebsk. It is considered to be the main  concert hall of the international music festival called "Slavyanskiy Bazar" that has already celebrated its 26th anniversary.

Also on it you will see a panorama of the city of Vitebsk. Vitebsk is one of the major cities of the Republic of Belarus through which River Dvina flows towards Latvia. Vitebsk region is the coldest one in Belarus.

The Palace of the Rumyancevs and the Paskevichs located in the city of Gomel is depicted on this banknote. It is considered to be a pearl of the city of Gomel and it dates back to the end of the 18th century. The palace history is closely connected with the life and work of some outstanding people of the Russian Empire - statesmen and  military leaders who came from the two noble families - the Rumyancev family and the Paskevich family. The Russian emperor Nikolai I was a constant guest of the palace in Gomel.

The banknote - 50,000

On it there is one of the most unique and ancient castles of Belarus - "Mir Castle". It is located in the locality Mir, in Grodno region that is around 90 km from the capital of Minsk. Mir Castle dates back to  the 15th-16th centuries. In the year of 2000 it was included to the list of the world heritage of UNESCO.

Nesvizh Castle is depicted on this banknote. This Castle is one of the most beautiful and mysterious in Belarus that is located also in Grodno region, around 112 km from the Belarusian capital. Nesvizh Castle is famous for its mysterious inhabitant - ghost "Black Dame".
